Enchanted Makeovers Honored with Kelee Katillac “Design Gives Back” Award

TAYLOR, MI — Kelee Katillac, interior designer, life coach, author and House & Home expert for Guideposts Magazine, has named Enchanted Makeovers the recipient of her Design Gives Back 2010 Project Award.

The Design Gives Back program recognizes design projects with a purpose. “Our lives are so much like the poetry of recycle, repurpose and recreate,” Katillac said. “To dream big is to see the potential within us to be inspiring and to have a purpose. Design Gives Back supports those who dare to dream big and to use creativity to manifest the dream that helps others.”

Katillac said she chose Enchanted Makeovers for this year’s award because of the organization’s approach. “I founded Design Gives Back to help those who are using creativity to change the world. Enchanted Makeovers is doing just that in the women's shelters it makes beautiful,” she said. “Positive design helps the belief process of the residents. And, soon, they begin to use their own creativity to change their own world."

The award includes a $500 grant toward future Enchanted Makeovers projects. Terry Grahl, founder and president of Enchanted Makeovers, said she is honored to be the recipient of this year’s award. “Kelee has been giving back with her designs for a number of years,” Grahl said. “It’s so inspiring to see her motivation and passion. She is a great mentor and an amazing woman. This award makes me even more excited for the future.”
