Taylor Local Fuels Her Greatness Through Inspirational Design

NORTHRIDGE, CALIF (September 16, 2009) – Terry Grahl, award-winning interior decorator from Taylor, Mich., has been selected as one of five winners in Nature Made’s® national Fuel Your GreatnessTM contest. Nature Made is the nation’s best-selling brand of vitamins, minerals, herbs and supplements in the food, drug, mass and club channels. The company celebrates the inherent greatness found in individuals across the country and, earlier this year, challenged Americans to submit their personal stories of greatness as part of its national contest. Grahl’s story of personal growth, creativity, resourcefulness and giving will be featured, along with the stories of the four other winners, in Fuel Your GreatnessTM.The Documentary., an online expose created by Nature Made to showcase inspirational stories of everyday people achieving personal greatness in their own communities and lives.

Terry Grahl’s life was changed when she volunteered to redecorate a woman’s shelter in Pontiac, Mich. After her visit to the shelter, Grahl couldn’t stop thinking about the cheerless, impersonal and dingy rooms in which the women and their children lived. Grahl knew that with her design expertise she could help these women and their children by giving them the inspiration and hope she felt they needed and deserved. It was then that her non-profit, Enchanted Makeovers, was born. Today, Terry has a nationwide network of volunteers transforming the lives of shelter residents across the country.

“It was an honor to be selected as a winner for this contest, but the award really isn’t about me personally. Rather, it’s about the goals I have for Enchanted Makeovers and the impact we can have on the lives and women and children in shelters. Starting the Enchanted Makeovers organization has been life changing for me personally and this contest has given my organization the opportunity to expand our outreach even further,” said Grahl.

Grahl’s story was selected from hundreds of entries by an esteemed panel of experts who have achieved their own personal greatness in their respective fields. The expert panel included well-known fitness guru Denise Austin; spirited lifestyle expert and how-to hipster Michele Beschen; best-selling author, with titles including How to be Happy Dammit and The Bounce Back Book: How to Thrive in the Face of Adversity, Setbacks and Losses, Karen Salmansohn; and memory expert and 2008 United States National Memory Champion, Chester Santos.

“The expert panel used very specific criteria to evaluate all of the submissions. Each life story selected was evaluated based upon its ability to inspire others, the originality of personal growth, and translation of personal, creative expression that is aligned with Nature Made’s positive outlook on life,” said Josh Marder, senior brand manager at Nature Made.

Achieving personal greatness can be different for everyone; however, Nature Made celebrates the possibility for greatness in all and remains dedicated to providing innovative products that help their valued customers achieve their personal greatness on a daily basis. Nature Made has high-quality lines of vitamins and solutions-based products to help every individual reach his or her goals.

Beginning September 26, Terry Grahl’s inspiring story and her personal photos will be featured on www.NatureMade.com, where visitors may also learn more about Nature Made and its products.
