MLB, People Magazine and Cleveland Indians Announce 30 "All-stars Among Us" After 1.7 Million Votes are Cast

Major League Baseball, PEOPLE and the Cleveland Indians today announced Terry Grahl as the Indians “All-Star” of the “All-Stars Among Us” campaign, which debuted in 2009 and recognizes individuals who are serving their communities in extraordinary ways. Out of the three “All-Star” finalists representing the Indians, Terry Grahl from Taylor, MI has been chosen by fans across the nation for her community service through Enchanted Makeovers, an internationally recognized non-profit that refurbishes shelters for women and children. Grahl was nominated by a staff member at Laura’s Home, which is a crisis center branch of the City Mission in Cleveland. Terry Grahl plus the other 29 “All-Stars Among Us,” one representing each MLB Club, will attend and be honored during the pre-game ceremony of the 81st Major League Baseball All-Star Game on July 13 on FOX beginning at 5:00 p.m. PT (8:00 p.m. ET). Enchanted Makeovers Moves Forward With Kansas City Outreach

TAYLOR, MI — Following the recent dissolution of The Society of Decorating Professionals (SDP), Terry Grahl, founder and president of Enchanted Makeovers, quickly contacted volunteers and rounded up resources to ensure that the event benefiting Newhouse on March 9 in Kansas City would be able to move forward despite the conference cancellation. “The women at Newhouse are counting on us,” Grahl said. “The conference that was originally planned for Kansas City gave us an opportunity to get the ball rolling and create awareness about the shelter. The event will include more than 40 women from around the U.S.—all part of the Dreamers into Doers group at MarthaStewart.com (a women’s forum)—who are joining together to bring a message of hope and love to residents of the New York City shelter for victims of domestic violence. 2009 Vision Project at Vista Maria’s Myriam House Highlights Love's Power in Detail

TAYLOR, MI — At Vista Maria’s Myriam House on Sunday, Nov. 15, the excitement was palpable. Over the past two months, dozens of local volunteers had given of their time to paint, sew, hang mirrors and inspirational signs, and install new lighting fixtures and closet doors in 11 bedrooms for at-risk, abused and neglected teens; dozens of others from across the nation and around the world had lovingly created beautiful handmade gifts such as slippers, dolls, stuffed animals, journals and embroidered pillowcases. Enchanted Makeovers Launches Myriam House Transformation; Issues Call for Volunteers

Nineteen volunteers equipped with paint brushes, rollers and paint pans were on hand for the launch of Enchanted Makeovers’ 2009 Vision Project transformation at Vista Maria’s Myriam House on Saturday, Oct. 10. Volunteers primed wooden bed frames in the 11 bedrooms and painted the hallway in preparation for the mural artists, who will transform the space into a virtual fairy garden. Read more…
