Joann Instructor Chris Gay and Volunteers team up for a pillowcase event on June 5th, 2010 in Allen Park, MI. The challenge was met 103 pillowcases were made in 5 hours!!! August 2010 another challenge met 175 pillowcases were made in one day!!
Hello Terry!
On June 5th, my students and I will be spending 5 hours making pillowcases for Enchanted Makeovers. My name is Chris. I'm Allen Park- JoAnn's quilting/sewing instructor. My boss calls these ladies "Q's".
The "Q's" will be setting up their sewing machine at 11 a.m. We will be setting up in different stations. The areas will be: cutting, pinning, sewing and ironing. We are hoping shoppers will stop by and join us also.

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month
Give a heartfelt gift of a book to a local girl. Your area Southgate Borders Express makes giving easy. Your donations of new books will provide tangible, spiritual, social, and emotional support for girls ages 11-17 in Southeast Michigan.
The donated books will be placed in a hope chest which will be provided in each girl’s newly transformed bedrooms.

Your gift of a book is a gift of inspiration and hope. It is greatly appreciated! The physical transformation of the girls' bedrooms will bring together the talents and love of many.

Southgate Border Express, located at 13667 Eureka, will be collecting donations of new books throughout the Month of April (extended until May 10th) to support the efforts of Enchanted Makeovers in enriching the lives of at-risk young women and girls at Vista Maria Shelter in Dearborn Heights. Borders Express joins our generous patrons in congratulating Terry Grahl, originator of Enchanted Makeovers, for her efforts.
